From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can expect discovering which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
